Hi I have an 8 week old Boston Terrier puppy. I've had her for 3 days and I've noticed that she doesn't eat a lot. And most of the time I have to physically take her to her food bowl and then she'll have a little or I have to hand feed her the dry dog food. Her stool's are all fine, not runny or too hard. She sleeps a lot, but when she's awake runs around and plays normally. I just want to know if she's OK, if I need to feed her different food and if she will eventually start eating larger amounts? I've followed the instructions on the back of her food pack, she's 3 kgs and should be eating just over 100g of food a day and she's not even eating 40g. I'm a bit worried..

100g of food... wow my 11kg dog only eats 200g wet food a day plus biscuits before bed.
The instructions on the packaging is only a guide... if I fed mine what the pack recommended they would be morbidly obese. You learn the judge how much to feed eventually, just keep an eye on her weight and adjust that way.

Don't fret too much, it's pretty normal for them to be picky the first week or so anyway. You have to think, it's pretty scary for them going from being with mom and their brothers and sisters, to being alone with a strange person.
She will settle in eventually and get into a routine.

Sleeping a lot is perfectly normal as well, young puppies will sleep for 2 hours, then play for half, then sleep again for another 2.

Do you have set meal times or are you just leaving the food down?
At 8 weeks she should be having 3 set meals a day. After 10-15 minutes any leftover food gets picked up and put away.
If you free-feed then they will just graze at it all day and not only does it keep their metabolism going, it makes them feel not very hungry.
