View Full Version : How to hook a ac fan motor to a capacitor

I replaced my ac fan motor my original had three wires purple,brown and black,the new motor has 4wires yellow,black,brown,and brown white. I have a dual capacitor that has common,herm and fan how do I connect the wires to the capacitor.

You must purchase a new capicitor for the new motor/it will be for the motor only and must be what the motor call for

On the side of new motor is a wiring diagram,telling you how to wire
You will probably find it says the brown and brown/white go to the new cap
And the yellow and black each go to contactor one to each hot post

If it's the right one,, it must match the motor


A correct and new capicitor is like a warranty on the motor,a wrong capicitor can ruin a motor
