My husband is on Supervised visitaion. It is currently supervised by his mother. We have his children for 24 hrs. From Friday @ 5 PM until Saturday @ 5 PM. We are working to get off this supervision. He was put on it because at the time of the divorce, he had a DUI. He had not drank in 2 years. The children are (son)13 (will be 14 Oct 9) and (daughter)10 (will be 11 Dec 22). When we went to court to get off the supervision she (the mother) used the fact that my husband stayed with his son at his school's football practice, without his mother, the children's grandmother, who is the supervisor, there as a violation against this supervision and the judge agreed. So we need to know what the guidelines in the state of Tennessee are so that when we go back to court in 2 months, we can finally get off this supervision, without any violations.

It is at the discretion of a Judge - the violation was, of course, serious in the eyes of the Court. Have you asked that an evaluation be done on all parties by a Social Worker? That is often most helpful.

The only guideline I find is what is in the best interest of the children.

(This is not the place for personal advice but I commend you on your interest in your husband's children and the calm way you have presented this situation.)

Lawyer, is a big key, obviously you don't have one.
Has he provided court proof of AA meetings perhaps, a parenting class or other things to prove he is working on being a good parent

Also he needs to file for more visits.
