I have a Samsung 27 in tube TV apx 9 years old the screen will fade to black for hours and then come back to full pic the sound seems to aways work outsie of unpluging the TV I haven't tried anything

Almost sounds like a cold solder joint. Hitting it may bring it back if it is.
