Hi,

The ITIN application for my wife was rejected by the IRS.
She is not currently in US now, hence I don't have any supporting documentation currently with me.

If I do not submit the corrected Tax Return will the tax returns be processed w/o dependent exemption?

If the tax returns will be processed, can I submit a amendment after my wife comes back to US?

Thanks in advance.

What is your legal status? And hers?

If lpfrba is a resident or qualifies for the Married Filing Joint option ujnder First Year Choice, they can file jointly and both CHOOSE to be treated as resident aliens for the entire tax year.

Her legal status is irrelevent! She does not even have to be present in the United States.

lpfrba, email me at [email protected] with specifics and we will proceed to see about re-applying for another ITIN for your wife. It may take a bit of time (because your wife will have to sign both the W-7 and the tax return or amendment), but we can make this happen.
