In words? OK, no math.
Water molecules dissociate into H3O+ and OH- ions. One of each: that means their concentrations are equal.
Since Kw equals the product of their concentrations it can thus be expressed as the concentration of H3O+ squared.
This means the H3O+ concentration equals the square root of Kw. This will be a little bigger than 8 x 10^-8.
