If your dog is licking its feet until they are raw, then there is something going on. You need to take your dog to the vet to have him checked out. That isn't very normal and is usually a good sign of allergies bothering him.

There are solutions available in pet stores to help aid in removing tear stains. You might want to speak with your groomer about which one would work best for you.

But please.. take your poory red footed friend to the vet for a quick exam. That can't be comfortable

Tear staining was my arch enemy for a while there with my white poodle. He had bright orange staining around his eyes and he would lick his front leg until it was orange as well.

For him a diet change worked. I feed natural food and stay clear of beef, I figured out that every time I fed beef he would get itchy, and natural food... well that's just better than one full of preservatives and colors.

To get rid of the staining I recommend a product called "Eye Envy" but there are many products on the market that do the job.
The one I use is a liquid you put on the stain, followed by a powder, within a week or so the staining will be almost completely gone.

Here's a picture of Brody's leg. You can see how dark the staining was on the inside of his right leg, it's so dark it looked like blood.
