My Honda S2000 (year 2000 model) steering is locked solid in the straight ahead position. The car starts and moves forwards and backwards but will not turn.

Is it froze solid, or does it feel like steering is locked(slight movement)?

It seems locked in place.. Wriggling only moves by about a hair's breadth

Somebody said it could be seized or binding bearings on the steering column shaft.

Remove the steering joint cover and see if the U-joints attempt to turn. If not, there's likely a problem with the column ball bearing/shaft assembly.
Does changing the tilt lever affect things?
My concern is that there may be a problem with the gearbox.
Personally, I would tow the car to Honda for servicing, if nothing is apparent.

Great tip this one! ( before I take too many things apart).
My Honda agent told me I will have to change the netire steering rack. Frankly, I do not believe this. They said a new steering rack will cost around $320 in South African 'Rands' currency. To give you a perspective, that can buy me a good used 1990's Civic. I will only get time to examine the car on Saturday. I will send feedback.

The S2000 is off to local Honda tomorrow. I had a well-recommended gentleman come by yesterday to go through the steering column and the ignition. Everything checked out. He insists it is a steering pump failure or blockage. He insists there should be some play in the steering wheel, which I am afraid has indeed seized somewhere. I will post regular updates until it is fixed so we know what to do next when such things happen...
