I recently got a Toro 44" Proline walk behind mower that the former owner had taken off a blown Kawasaki engine and bolted on a Briggs 12 Hp engine. I finished hooking up the engine and belts to make it work. It looks like the PTO is going to draw more electricity than the stator is going to put out. Does this sound right? If so, is there a more powerful stator available to put on one of these small Briggs engines?

Yes Briggs has a chart. The two key characteristics are the connector from the alternator to the wiring harness and the dimension of the magnets.

Can you give me an idea of what I amperage I would need to run the electric PTO on the Pro-line?

I do have a white connector.

It would seem that the highest working amperage needed for working operation is 6-7 amps(this is exceeded at engagement) with both Warner and Ogura; see attachments.
A white connector tells little as the shape also defines the alternator.
