HELLLLPPPP...

I've just started to experience a problem on my Honda Civic 1.5 LSI (AUTOMATIC) 1992 model.

It starts first time when cold but only recently it has started to develop a fault when I start the car when it is warm (i.e. been on a short run 10 mins).
Typically when I've stopped to get something from the shops or pick up the kids, I will try to start the engine and the following happens:
- power lights come on
- motor sounds like it's just about to start but doesn't.
- repeat the start and the same happens - sometimes the car finally starts after 10 tries other times I just have to leave it for 10 minutes or so then it may start.

The spark plugs & air filter are new.

Anyone able to help??

Read the ignition system sections of the following link:

Most likely a bad igniter inside the distributor or a bad main relay. I would recommend running the tests, if so inclined, or just replace the igniter, coil, main relay, and fuel filter. You are overdue for replacement, anyhow.
