I asked the company if they sold my debt and they said no, but 2 different collectors have called about it. Do I believe them? Do I ask for validation of debt on my answer to the court. The summons contains an invitation page that I signed (when I lived in a different state) and no other documentations. They are asking for all the interest plus attorney fees. . Help! Yes you always ask for verification. The rep may represent the creditor or the collector, but that shouldn't matter to you.
