I was sitting down watching a movie with my boyfriend little boy and another little boy when my boyfriend little boy said my back hurts. I asked him why it hurt and he said "my gary" hit me (my gary is his stepfather). I asked him if he was being bad and where he hit him. He said "no they were being bad (his mother and s.father) and pointed to his upper back and shoulder. I talked to my boyfriend when he came in and he asked him if he was hurting. The little boy said the same thing. Later that night we were giving him a bath and he refused to have his back touched. He also told his granma the same story. We called cps and reported it. This might have been too early, but he has never said anything like this, he loves all of his parents and this has never happened before.
Was this the wrong thing to do? The mother is uncooperative and has only known her husband 2 months bfor getting married to him. She also claimed in a text message that this little boy was dead and better off dead (this was when the boy was 1 and 1/2 ). He is now almost 4 and is saying this.
Kids may not understand when they are punished but to be hit on the shoulders and back? And cps said they will decide in 5 days whether to do anything further.
If anyone has comments, please feel free to give advice (the child lives in indiana)
