Hi,

I have a L1-B visa. If I come to US do I need to apply for a SSN even though I stay for 4 to 5 months.

I am trying to understand if I apply for SSN do I need to pay tax or not required.

As an L1-B holder, you must pay taxes no matter how long you stay in US. Apply for SSN, and file income tax return at year end.

I think I have missed one info here. I am on Indian pay roll only and not by US pay roll. So still do I need to take SSN ?
