How do you save a word 2003 picture in a jpg file

Is the image actually in a document or is it in a folder that's used by the Word program, please?

You really can't. Take a screenshot and crop it using an image editor.

There is no way of extracting an image embedded in a word document except by taking a screen shot.

I saved it to My Pictures

You saved what? The doc file or a screenshot or what?
