I have a whirlpool fridge with freezer on top which is not cooling. I unplugged it and opened both doors to let it defrost for a day and then plugged it back in. The fan and blower is working fine however it is only blowing warm air. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the freon may have leaked. Call for repair or
Get a new one.

What about the compresser starter switch or overload? This is a response I got from a phone technition since the fans are on but there is just no cold air.

If the fans are running, I would check the overload and relay. The overload is normally closed. Replace them as a pair if one is bad.

Replace defrost timer. Probably looks like this. Should cost approx $35. Available at any appliance parts store.
Probably located behind toe kick plate but may be behind a control panel.

A quick way to confirm you have a leak is to removed the inner back panel of freezer. Look at frost pattern on evaporator coils. If there is not frost patter, which I suspect, then you have a leak. Your looking at an expensive fix. Also, when moisture gets in the sealed system, when there's a leak, it creates acid witch eats away at the compressor internals. May want to buy new refrigerator.

The refrigerator model number is ET1FTTXKQ00. I pulled the overload/starter and the porceline was cracked indicating that this was a bad part. Ordered a new replacement part and it does not work. My old part has three wire ports and the new part has four wire ports. Is there any sort of adapter that can be used?

By wire ports are you referring to where the overload and start dev plug onto the compressor?

Yes this part is plugged into the compresser and has three wires that plug into it. The part that I received had four wire ports instead of three. After speaking with the whirlpool parts dealer I found out that they ordered the wrong overload/start device.

See how the right parts work. Good Luck.
