My itouch screen went black and is not responding. I plugged it in several times and tried to turn it on and off but nothing works, it won't reset and will not even show up on itunes to do a restore.

Have you tried removing the battery and then reinstalling it?

How do you open it up to take out the battery? I don't see anyway to do that. Its an itouch

Trying holding both the power button on the top & the home screen together for around 10 seconds. The white Apple logo should appear and the phone should reboot. If this fails and everything else you've tried still doesn't work, take it to your local Apple store.
