Per our divorce decree my ex must use my insurance and if he does not then I am not responsible for any part of the amount billed, however I am now in collections for over $500.00 from his bill for our son from over 2 1/2 yrs ago. I never once received a bill from him or the company that sent it to collections. Now they are saying he sent the court papers to them & are coming after me. I told them to read the part ( I stated above) they told me they don't care... what do I do? I verified with my insurance company that nothing was ever processed for this on my sons behalf! HELP

You pay the bills to keep your credit clean and then you sue him for the money.

If its not a great hardship to pay the $500, I would do so. But Don't worry about what the collection agency said, they will try and intimidate you. If you have documentation that you are not responsible for this bill because of the way your ex handled it, then they will lose in court if they even bother to try. They may tell you they don't care, but they will know they can't win.

I'm slow on the uptake today - the husband is not following a Court Order and is in contempt. Go back to Court - protect your credit rating, save yourself the phone calls and letters, let the Court order him to pay the bills and provide the info in the future.
