I was arrested for " illegally obtaining a controlled substance with intent". I pleaded not
Guilty but sentenced to drug court for 12 months. Upon graduation my charges will be dropped ( and I assume expunged or sealed). In the mean time, my nurses license
Have lapsed. I plan to reapply for my license after I complete drug court and my record
Is cleared. Will the nursing board have access to my "expunged or sealed" criminal
History? State of GA.

I think they will. Expungement only HIDES your record from the public. The question I have, is the nursing board considered public. I don't know if they are.

You will likely be given the steps of the expungement process when you complete your course. It won't be automatic.

Unfortunately, since your charge had to do with drugs, you most likely will not get your license back that easily, if at all.

You may be required to attend an in-patient drug rehab before the licensing board considers reinstating you.

They will be able to see all records.

The biggest issue is explunged or case dismissed ? If dismissed there was never a conviction.

I see a case by case review. If it's drug related I see it keeping you from being employed as a Nurse.

I don't understand the sentencing but charges will be dropped - contradiction in terms!
