My daughters house has exterior roof condensation. Every morning water drips or runs off the roof. So much that the grass is always green around the house at the roof line, even during extreme dry conditions. She lives in South Alabama with high humidity. What is causing this? The house was built in December 2005.

Condensation is formed by a difference in temprature to relative humidity. In the south it can get very humid. Is the roof shingle comp roof or metal roof?

Like a glass of water with ice in it.

The condensation forms when the moisture outside reacts to the cool insides.

If the home is air conditioned, even the smallest moisture outside will cause condensation.

I live in a converted barn, the summer months produce interesting effects in the mornings when we have run the a/c all night, the frame of the original building shows in condensation form on the outside walls(the frame is accentuated by the wall areas being wet)

There shouldn't be concern for this occurrence,it is natural and common. The ONLY thing I would be concerned with would be the moisture BETWEEN the rooftop and the wood sheeting below. As long as there is proper ventilation for the moist air to escape during the day, there should be no problems for the home.
