It WOULD help if we know HOW MUCH you were going to earn in 2010 while on OPT?

Rahul:

If you are from India, you are getting a complete refund of your federal income taxes because the combination of your personal exemption ($3,650) and your standard deduction ($5,700) (which Indian students can claim under Article 21 of the U.S.-India Tax treaty) complete offsets the $4,800 IN INCOME.

For Maryland, you have a requirement to file, but you will owe NO income tax.
