Second, I have never heard of someone being arrested for not showing up at a small claims case. Civil might be different, but even so - typically they will simply grant a default judgment to the plaintiff, not waste the time to come look for you.

Where are you located? How old is the debt you're being sued for? When was the last time you used the card and when did you make the last payment?

Thankfully there is no debtor's prison any longer. You can't be arrested and thrown in jail for not paying your credit card bill.

I'm sure the credit card companies are not happy about this and will shortly change the laws in their favor.
