However, this is one of the strangest history questions I have ever come across. The history of both these nations is so intertwined politically, culturally, and geographically that the "exploration" part seems quaint. In fact, I have read extensively on the history of these nations and never once was the exploration of Portugal by Spain mentioned. Are you sure you understood your assignment right?

Perhaps what was asked was what political effect did Spain's voyages of exploration have on Portugal? Now that would make far more sense. I suggest you seek clarification before you proceed to waste your time looking for something that doesn't exist.
