After removing some Google shortcut apps from my Firefox toolbar, Firefox ceased to operate or open without a repeatable "Warning Window" - see below. Have to Force Quit FF to shut-down iMac. Still can't open Firefox as the following window pops up no matter how often I respond by clicking on "OK"! Here's what the window repeats to me...

"[JavaScript application] Error on adding menu element: NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED, (Component returned failure code: 0x000ffff ((NS_ERROR_UNEXPECTED) [nslPrefBranch.getCharPref] id:

Please Note; I had NOT included in my first posting, the " [JavaScript application] " part.

seahwk83 responded and advised, "Uninstall and download and reinstall."

lar45 Thanks for the response to the problem quoted below...
So I did as suggested... HOWEVER, every time that I dwnld and re-install FF 3.6.6. my Apps folder indicates the original June dwnld date and the [Java] pop-up window problem persists.

I used to be smart.
Now I'm humble.
And Broken.
Never ever clutter up a tool bar with "stuff" again.
Please Help.
I really do prefer to use Safari as a back-up only...

Dose Firefox work under a different user or a new user? If so Delete your Firefox profile the path is "Users"-your user-"Library"-"Application Support"-"Firefox"-"Profiles". The folder inside of the "Profiles folder should be deleted as well as the Firefox application. This will delete all bookmarks, saved passwords history and...
The profile is not installed new again when you reinstall Firefox and it recordes all the users actions and preferences for Firefox.
