I am thinking of installing an outdoor wood furnace for home heat. How could I wire a second thermostat to control the existing blower motor without energizing the hvac compressor ? Thanks for any help.

A double pole/double throw contactor could open compressor control wiring when heat is energized.

Sir, Thank you for the reply. I'm not shure I understand, are you suggesting using a contactor that would open or break the circuit going to the hvac- when the second thermostat drops to its lower setting and, then reverses to complete the hvac circuit when the 2nd thermostat reaches the perfered high heat setting? Also would a relay be needed to power the contactor?

It would break the circuit to the compressor,
Whenever the Heat is call for.
You could use the 24 volts from the transformer already there.
Can you provide a basic diagram, or describe your wood furnace control? Thanks
