View Full Version : How do I write to a judge asking for early termination of probation?

I was sentenced to 2 years community control with a special condition from the court to have early termination after 1 yr, as long as I complied with all court orders. My probation officer wrote me a status letter saying I complied with everything asked of me. I have friends who also are writing me letters saying how well I have done. I did have a private attorney who I still have not paid off yet because of trying to keep up with everything else, can he (my attorney) stop me in anyway of being granted my early term? Also I have two beautiful children up north that I want to start getting back in their lives but I can't during this time because I can't leave. I have kept a full time job and completed a 26 week intensive treatment program.

Hello N:

At first, I was going to tell you to beg... Not really, but this letter is easy. The judge set up criteria for you to meet and your probation WILL be dropped. You DID meet the criteria. That's all you have to say to the judge in your letter.

No, your attorney can't/won't stop you.
