I have an Acer Aspire 5515 laptop, the other day it was running slow so I reboot and my keyboard froze along with the mousepad. I have tried FN F7 to unfreeze my mousepad but still no help. The cursor is frozen in the login screen section so I can't do anything.

Unfortunately I can't help with this, but there will be an expert here who I'm sure will be able to.
This problem reminds me of one I also had with the frozen log in screen, keyboard and mouse, but mine is just your standard PC, not a laptop.
I also tried powering down, re-booting and so on, nothing worked, then having traced the keyboard leads, it appeared that it was a bad connection between the lead and the computor, after sorting that out it was fine again.
I'm sure you've already checked all of that, and like I said I've no idea about laptops, I hope you get it sorted soon.

If machine is still on and just sitting there, need to try to have it power off - disconnect plug and take out battery so no power and unit shuts down
Disconnect anything that may be attached to the unit (if there is)
Just attached AC to unit and turn on, hopefully will start working normally
From there, shut down and setup as normal
