Time to pile on. I have a 6 year old Kenmore Elite 665 (16693) I had the same flashing quick-rinse light. A month or so ago when the problem started, unplugging the dishwasher would reset computer and would operate OK. Now, that trick does not work. I took the advice of the taking the control panel out and blowing air through the touch panel. Since I removed the entire black panel that contains all the electronics, I blew out all of the switches and also applied a light spray of electronic cleaner/lube on the switches below the control panel. Gave it all an additional blowdown and reinstalled the panel. Panel worked well, started a "Normal Wash". Ran the sink water to first get it hot. 8 min into the normal wash, the machine shut down. Opened the door and "quick rinse " flashing again. Took the whole thing apart again to "re-blow" the panel, this time removing the stich panel to really get at each switch and the buttons. Reassembeld and the same thing happened-8 min. into the wash-shut down & "quick rinse" flashing.
Called sears and tried the electronic reset-that had no effect.
So-what is happening at 8 min. into the cycle that causes the system to bomb out?
What are the top candidates? Temp probe/thermistor? Heater element? Control panel?
Thanks
