I have been married before and from that have two sons. My fiancé has been married twice before and have no kids. Our marriage is not just the union of him and I but that of him, I and my boys as a family. I want to have a nice wedding but we are on a really tight budget and my mom keeps insisting that its stupid that I want a wedding. We have about 75 to 100 guests. Was thinking a wedding at the town gazebo and a reception at the eagals. I paid for most of my first wedding and paying for all of my second. I think that she should just keep her thoughts to herself. But now she is turning my fiancé to not wanting the wedding either. Is it really that wrong for me to want and wedding and reception although we both have been married before?

Has she always tried to sabotage your happiness? Tell her that if she is against it so much, then she shouldn't be obligated to attend. It might be better that way anyway.

It's a shame when two people who love each other so much, can't celebrate their union the way that they want to, without having outside influences interfere.

I wish you the best.

It's YOUR special day, so have the wedding you want. If you let Mom run the show you will regret it and resent her for years.

Just tell her that this wedding will go on with or without her and that you hope she'll be there.

Just get to making the plans and good luck!
