Hi, I'm a 25 year old female and recently had a laprosocpy done to look for endometriosis since my OBGYN thought that my pelvic pain and painful periods was due to that. When she did the laproscopy she found no traces of endo, but did find a vein near my uterus that is enlarged and inflamed. She said she isn't quite sure why it is like that, but the inflammatory pain before, during, and after my period is very bothersome and I can't even have intercourse with my fiancé because it hurts too much. What would cause this inflammation and how can I help to get rid of it?

HI Karen-
Do you also get varicose veins on your legs? Do you have low back problems? Does the pain wrap around the leg? Pelvic pain is the worst! If you do have varicosities on your lower extremities ad the pain persists you might consider seeing a vascular specialist. (hopefully you are insured) Also, sometimes low back issues can manifest in the pelvic area, as can hip problems. Don't give up, definitely ask your doctor what he/she feels is causing this, or get a referral to a vascular specialist or another ob/gyn.

Good Luck to you-
Karen
