Hi
I have a honda accord 98 stick. Recently I'm having couple of problems, in the morning my rpm goes down and sometimes I shuts off on me and the other thing is that I will be driving down the highway all of a sudden my car will start choking and feels like its not getting gas, so I will have to pull over to the side and the motor will still be running but the rpm will be flutuating up and down. But if I try to drive it will choke so I will have to shut down my motro and turn it back on, it will then run fine and will have no prob all day..

Please help me with this.. I will appreciate..

Thanks

Replace the Ignition Control Module (igniter) inside the distributor. Also, make sure the NGK spark plugs have no more than 24,000 miles or 2 years or them and that the fuel filter has been changed within the last 60,000 miles or 4 years.

Will that mean I will have to change whole distributor not just the cap but with the rotor also. Sombody told me it could be the vacuum hose also. What would u say on it.
Thanks

No, you won't have to change the whole distributor at all--just the igniter inside. 1998 4 cylinder Accords have internal igniters, V6s have external igniters. I don't think you have a problem with your MAP sensor, which has a vacuum hose going to it.

Here's what it looks like:

Do you have the 4 cylinder LX?
