I understand that the aircon will leak water... but this is excessive amounts from my unit and now in the past 2 days it has began to squeek so loudly its impossible to sleep in the same room... any ideas please?

Yes you will have to take the unit apart and find out why it is leaking and while you are in there also find out what is causing the noise.
