Last summer I bought a GE 9000 BTU a/c unit, it was doing a great job, then out of nowhere the compressor starts shutting down way before the room is cool. It has a digital thermostat, I usually keep at 71 or 72, but I can hear the compressor shut off when the display shows room temp at 84-85. Why is that? It is only a year old! Someone please help!

Could be the digital controls. Since it is so new (2009) it is probably not dirty enough for other problems.
