I turned 20 about a month ago, I have semi-long hair but for the past 3-4 weeks I've noticed that my hair is getting thinner and thinner and it also falls out every time I wash it, shower. Even when I run my fingers through it about 7-9 hairs fall out. Friends tell me that is probably because I use a lot of hair product to style my hair, could they be right? I've now stopped using hair products, its been about a week but it still falls off. Also I started working about 3 months ago, so I don't eat as much as I used to, nor get as much sleep, could it be the cause of my hair lose? What should I do to make it stop falling out? HELP!! I don't have bald spots yet, but my hair line has reduced notoriously. Help me .

Hi, I was a cosmetologist so here goes the truth. WE lose about 80 to 100 strands a day! Depending on your haircolor you may have more or less to start with. Red heads have the least , blonds have the most. There are some things that can cause hair loss, like medicines if you are on any. If not here's what you do. Hair products don't make hair fall out unless its literally breaking off! What men do is once they see hair falling out they freak out and try not to stimulate the scalp. You shouldn't stop stimulating it, brush fairly rigorously before showers.. when you are watching TV massage your scalp, it stimulates growth. Most of all , take a breath because there's not much you can do about it. If you have a dad , take a look at his hairline. That's most likely you in the future :)
