My boyfriend and I broke up 4 days ago. He was my boyfriend for 4 years. Although, we had a good break-up, I still love him so. We cried together during the break-up but right now, I can't help thinking that perhaps he just cried out of pity and that he was guilty that he's hurting me. I keep thinking that perhaps, he's okay now and maybe he's already seeing someone else.

I thought I am now okay but sometimes it literally pains my heart every time I think about him.

When will I forget him? Is there a study that says after xx months, you'll be okay or something? I want to forget him fast but I don't know how and when?

Although, I look okay from the outside, deep inside I'm bleeding. Please help.

It is easier in 4 weeks, a lot better in 4 months and memory in 4 years. You never forget, just put the memory in the right place

I had the same thing happen to me but in a different way. After that brake up I just wanted to sleep and never wake up. And I still love him as well. I don't think you can forget him and yes I know it hurts like hell like someone just tore your heart out and stomped on it then left it there(maybe you fell different just my opinion). Ull probably never forget him. But the best way not to think of him is start thinking of you your friends family and that will help to stop thinking about him, but it doesn't mean you won't think of him from time to time. It will hurt less and less when you think about him it worked for me maybe it will work for you.

Sorry, no miracle solutions. You just have to do what we all do, and that's get busy rebuilding a life that you enjoy, until the feelings and memories bother you less over time

Read the stickies (https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/relationships/no-chat-speak-no-text-talk-303157.html). This will take longer than just 4 days. A lot longer.
