Hi. My Central AC stops cooling in High Heat. The tech came and said that it is a Utility issue since the voltage coming into the unit was only 195 V and the unit needs 230 V to run. What should I do? Thanks.

Contact the utility and have them correct the low voltage problem. Actually the unit does not need 230 volts to run but 195 is a bit low.

Get the utility to come out. There is not much you can do that isn't expensive.

1. Utility fixes.
2. You install a tap-changing voltage regulator (trust me - you don't want to go there)

Make sure the voltage was measured at the power into the house, not at the unit.

From the standard service of 240, 195 is about 18% low,

That's not what's expected to be delivered by the utility.
