I think I have been bittin by bed bugs but can't find them on my bed. Could they be in the couch or some other place? I googled bed bus bites and they look edsactly like my bites that are on my back, fingers, hands, and neck. I've never seen bites like these before what should I do?

Tickle's link does have some very good information. The latest techniques use high temperature treatments to kill the larvae since they cannot survive 140 degree temperatures but just about all fabrics and plastics can.

Check your local exterminators to see if any of them are using heat guns.

Hi Cats, I wish your expertise as an excellent exterminator was available in Toronto because as a healthcare worker, I don't like what's going on there in some older apt. buildings. The City of Toronto, as much as people complain about the situation, do not have any hardcore information on how to deal with the infestations, so not very much is being done, other then burn mattresses and couches etc. Could you get some business that way ?

The problem is that proper treatment is expensive and normally out of municipal price ranges. I believe Toronto has to purchase by open bids, do they not?

Add this to your favorites, it's the most up-to-date University site I've found.
NCSU Entomology Insect Notes (http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/ent/notes/Urban/bedbugs)
You can print it out, too.

Tesskathryn, you should look at it, too.

.

Yes, they probably do the 'open bid', the problem is an influx of immigrants and really bad baggage as I imagine. Of course, I hate to say this but it isn't centered in the more affluent neighbourhoods but the downtown core where new people go, and of course, northern Toronto is a multi-culture neighbourhood too. What can I say, you probably know what I mean, Toronto proper only, is 7 million people. That isn't counting the outskirts which has accumulated the little hamlets over the years.

Thanks for the link. I don't wish I was on the city council.
