My Cat had a healthy kitten yesterday morning. It's been about 36 hours since then. She is eating and drinking and is walking around... acting pretty normal, even lovable from the hormone rush I guess. I'm beginning to get a little worried though. She is still quite large, you can even see a kind of dent in her stomach like an empty space where the kitten was before it was born. So I'm pretty positive that there are more kittens inside her. This is her first litter. Like I said, she isn't showing any signs of distress, but should it be taking this long? I've seen another cat before have three kittens and then the next day have three more, but it's been 36hrs and mine has only had one! Please help, I love this cat like a child and I'm worried for her babies. Is there anything I can do? I can't take her to the vet as I have absolutely NO money whatsoever regrettably. Any advice?

If you care for your cat's safety, you will have to take her to the vet ASAP. Could be she can't pass the rest of them. It has been far too long. No, there is nothing you can do and nothing we can advise you to do. You said this is her first litter, her birth canal may be to small to pass a very large kitten.

Hi rex's mom, do you mind telling me why you disagreed. I gave a factual reason why this cat may not be passing her kittens. Do you know otherwise? If you know a plausible reason why, then post it.

As tickle said, take your cat to the vet. Even if she doesn't seem distressed, there could still be something wrong. The kittens may have died, preventing her body from trying to birth them. If the kittens are too large to pass, then they'll die. If she doesn't pass any dead kittens, then she'll die.
I hope you can see the importance of taking her to a vet.
