The biological fathers name is on my child's birth certificate. However the father has never been in the child's life. The child does not even know this person. How can I have this name taken off the birth certificate?

You cannot. Have you gone to Court and requested child support?

His name is on there for legal reasons. The courts and any state services you may or may not receive lie maybe medicade. Need that information and will only let you remove a name if DNA proves that person is NOT the father.

Sorry that he has not done his moral duty to be a father to the child.

And while I know how you feel, you can't take him off the birth certificate.

And while I am sure you don't want or need it, your child has a right to get the child support due him, so be sure and file for it, if you have no other use, put it into a savings account for the child for use latter in life.
