The kitchen has a 200? Moen Monticello faucet and we are getting low water pressure from both cold and hot. Had plumber here and he took something out from under the sink and cleaned it out, then he unscrewed the end of the faucet and cleaned that out, and then he took the faucet off from above the sink and cleaned that out. Now we have a lot less pressure and the faucet does not turn off when using the sprayer. Sprayer before plumber came had a bit more pressure than the faucet did.

The stuff that was in the end of the faucet looked like small black flakes, the plumber said it was rust.

The water heater was replaced about 5 years ago.

Could it be the faucet has gone bad or is it the plumbing?

All other water sources work great in and out of the house.

Hi Vicky...

It sounds like the spray diverter may be messed up along with other things. The plumber should have been able to tell you if the issue was at the faucet or at the pipes.

This being a moen faucet it should have a lifetime warranty on all parts... plumber should have known that, too... ;)

I'd call moen at 1800BUYMOEN and ask them to send you a new cartridge assembly and a new spray diverter... tell them the plumber said these parts are defective.

Then, I'd hire another plumber that knows moen faucets and have him over to swap the parts out.

Your thoughts..
