My a/c drips water in the overflow. Had tech come check they wanted to place some sort of float that would cut a/c off if too much water was in drip pan, never said were the water came from

my a/c drips water in the overflow. Had tech come check they wanted to place some sort of float that would cut a/c off if too much water was in drip pan, never said were the water came from. I have flush the line with hot water and bleach to keep line clear and clean.
