I have a singlepole swict current controlling a light fixture. The switch box contains one 14/2 wire entering it with the white and black connected to the switch. I'm looking for the samw switch to control he same light, however get a continues feed out of the connection in order to add an outlet that has continues power... How do I do this? Thanks!

Is the oulet/receptacle already in place, are there any wires running to it.

No, I need to add an outlet near the switch. The switch control a few outside lights, however there is only black, white and ground (14/2) coming into the box behind the switch...

Ok does the black go to and then from the switch or does a white and a black go to and from switch?

White and black... pull the switch out of the box, see what and black both attached to the switch... looking to eitherpigtail or "jump" off this in order to add an outlet...

If both white and black are atttached to the switch then you have no neutral wire in this box. You can pig tail all you want but all you have is a hot, no neutral. This could just be a switch loop

This is a bit weird, there was another post #7 here an hour ago, I think from Stanforty. Did not think you could make a post entirely disappear, just edit them
