I am a 34 yrs old female. I was sexually abused by my sister 3 and half years my senior since I was 4 to 12 yrs. Until recently I had accepted that I was abused and it was not my fault.
As a part of my healing process I want justice that is why I want to press charges against her, but the abuse happened in mexico ( I am a canadian citizen ) and she lives in mexico.

Can I press charges as canadian here in Ontario, Canada?
What is the age limitation in Ontario to charge for sexuall abuse?

Mexico, does not have the same law and rights that in Canada and there is a lot of corruption.

Hola C:

Unfortunately, you've got problems layered upon even more problems. The major issue, is that the abuse occurred in Mexico, where it wasn't a crime. So, filing in Mexico won't do any good. Filing in Canada won't either, because nothing happened in Canada.

You're going to have to skip that part of your treatment. Hopefully, you can still get over it - or at least get beyond it.
