2000 honda civic dx runs great then cuts off while driving. It cracks back up but some times I have to wait for 5 min. It may not cut off for 2-3 weeks and than cuts off again. We changed the fuel pump, cattelack converter twice, plugs, wires, coils. The code shows that the converter is bad and that the temp is 50 degrees outside. Replaced the temp switch located in the air cleaner. We are in GA temp is in the high 90's.

Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM):

I am having the same problem with my 2000 Honda Civic Dx. My boyfriend will be driving and then all of a sudden the car will shut off, but the radio will stay on. Apperently Honda had a recall on Civic's 1998-2000 because there is a problem with the Ignition Switch that would cause the car to cut off with no warning while driving at highway speeds. If you take the car to a Honda dealership they will do the recall at no charge. Best of Luck.
