I have a 16hp b&s.the motor turns over once and stops.I have a new batterie and the cables are new .if I keep trying to start it the starter gets hot.I tried tapping it with a screwdriver to see if it loosens but it does not help.if the starter is bad how do I take it apart and fix it.or is there another problem?

Take plug out. Bet motor will spin correctly and not stop.

Adjust valves.
