My wife of almost 11 years has a new girl friend that is 23 (wifie is 40). I don't have any issues with that or her making new pals. I think it's great and healthy. The strange thing is that she's behaving very different lately. She forgets to do things and is spending what I think way too much time with this new friend. They text each other at least 20x a day and talk at least 3x a day. They work out together and then go to the pool together and her pal is over at our house a few times a week. My wife is cool and I can see her hanging out with younger people, but not sure if this is something more. I just have a strange feeling cause she does not hang out like this even with her best pals whether new best pals or old best pals.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

You have a few things to consider in the mix of it.
1) A lot of people freak out at turning forty. This might be her way of releasing that anxiety.
2) its possible that she is having an affair with this woman if not physical possibly mental.
You would be able to judge the situation yourself as you are closest to it. Have you talked to her lately? Is she neglegent at home? Does she feel "old"?
Support her and don't attatck her if your going to talk about it. Because if it is nothing you don't want it to turn into something. Some accusations can have a lasting effect on your relationship. But by all means talk to her about your comfort level and concerns.
