Will not be around for a while. Computer is completely dead. Think it was dying a long death anyway. I am going to have to get a brand new computer. Not sure if I am going to the desktop route or laptop as of yet.

My first computer died after over 10 years. This was just an old computer the 2nd one.

Still have not checked to see if I can retrieve info from my first hard drive. Pictures, videos and documents.

Anyway, this is the error I got on this second computer.

I'm sorry to learn of your troubles about that, Joe! I've certainly had my share of them concerning computers over the past year!

Do you personally know a computer repair technician? One of my friends is one and I'm able to barter with him to get computer work done or even a "new" machine once in awhile.

It sounds to me like it might be a Windows problem rather than hardware. I would try to get a copy of Knoppix linux on a CD. Knoppix runs entirely from the CD and can read Windows files. You could then email them to yourself or copy them to a flash drive.
