I've had numerous problems with my eyes throughout my life. I had an unnoticed lazy eye as a child and as a result I lost most of my vision in my left eye. I see double. I have glaucoma. My good eye began getting a bit age-related blurriness ten or fifteen years ago, for which I was prescribed glasses.

Over the last year and a half every six months or so I have a noticeable and sudden change to my vision. I have had 3 changes in prescription during that time and one was a large enough drop that my doctor said this would typically be two full eye glass prescription changes. These changes are almost overnight. Usually over two days.

My doctor is stumped. Has anyone heard of this before?

Thank you.

I think this is a nice link: FCA: Vision Loss (http://www.caregiver.org/caregiver/jsp/content_node.jsp?nodeid=2222)

Vitamin E may make a big difference for you.

Do you have any diabetes symptoms? Diabetes should be ruled out.

He should be able to see the blood vessels in the eye and also see if cataracts are present.

I'd also see your family doctor and get the standard tests done such as CBC and lipid profile. The thyroid panel MIGHT be worth looking at too.

Do be a favor. Pinch the nail on on of your fingers until it turns white. When you release the pinch, blood should immediately return.

Thanks KISS. I'll check this out.

I did go to my Ophthalmologist today and he said my cataracts had gotten to the point where I need them removed. I live in Canada. I'm sure 3 or 4 months from now it should happen.
