For the last couple of days I have been leaking , but I don't think its urine. It doesn't smell like urine , it has a kind of sweet smell , (sorry tmi) I was wondering if it could be my amniotic fluid leaking. I go to the dr. in the morning but I was just wanting some thoughts so I don't sound crazy bringing it up. Also I have a lot of pressure , feels like he is going to fall out when I stand up and I have been having sharp stabbing pains down there since Sunday , it feels like someone is cutting me open. And today I have had a lot of cramping, like period cramps. I don't know if its all normal or what so I just wanted to get some opinions. I am 34 weeks. Thanks guys!

You need to seek attention at once if you believe that your membranes have ruptured.

I started having contractions last night and they lasted about an hr and then just stopped and then the same thing this morning on the way to the dr. I told her about the leaking , she didn't check or anything just said it probably wasn't fluid. But I had an ultrasound and they are saying he is measuring 6.5 lbs at 34 weeks. She said that it was pretty accurate. So I have to start going every week now so they can monitor it and they may take him before 39 weeks. My daughter was only 6 lbs when she was born so I am kind of scared. They said he could easily be 10 lbs.. WOW

Are you still leaking? Staying wet almost constantly?

Yeah I am still leaking , I have to wear a pantyliner and every time I go to the bathroom(which is all the time lol) its wet. I can feel it when its leaking. And it still has a sweet smell. But she didn't seem concerned at all.

You need to have this checked out. Yes, amniotic fluid has a sweet smell to it. You need to contact her or go to the hospital for either a ferning test or a nitrazine test.

Ok. I will , I figured she would have at least checked . Do you think it would be OK to wait until my husband gets home this afternoon to go to the hospital , if she won't do anything?

We deliver babies within 24 hours of rupture of membranes. You really need to find out if that is what is going on with you.
As I tell my patients... I can't assess you over the phone/internet, I would rather see you in person to determine what is going on. I would rather send you home a thousand times than risk something going wrong.

Hey. Sorry it took me so long to get back on here. I had a stomach virus and am finally feeling alive. My midwife finally called me back that evening and she said that she didn't think it was anything , but if I wanted to go up to labor and delivery after their office had closed then that was my choice. So I went up there and they checked me and said it wasn't my fluid leaking, but they couldn't tell me what it is. So I don't know. I can't wait for this pregnancy to be OVER!
