Where to write down your salary expectations on your resume or cover letter?

If you include past salaries on your resume I think a prospective employer can "sort of" figure out what you are worth/what you expect.

If I don't include a salary history I put a line item "Requested salary and benefits" right before references.

If you are just starting in a profession this is probably not feasible.
