I have a 1976 two dollar bill with a star at the end of the serial number instead of a second letter. I have never seen a this before. I was just curious. The bill is in awful condition. It has been torn in half a taped back together. I know it won't be worth anything but I was curious about the star.

KENdrealm- THE note you have is called a [STAR NOTE ]; How this comers abouint is that durning the printing process if they catch it ,the note- that it is damaged in some way ,they remove it ,record it in a log book ,then goesd to the furnace and burned and another note is made in its place and the only difference is the {STAR}next to the searial number which is placed at the start of the serial number or at the end of the serial number] you will find these in all denominations of paper money;; now these [STAR NOTES } are more vauleable the regular notes are ;; [ THE STAR indicates that ity is a replacement note and they are called [ STAR NOTES } I hope that I have answered your question ,IF I can ber of any more help just come back ;; Have a great night vand a better tomorrow and GOD BLESS ::: F.B.E.
